Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible to speak another language?
The idea of La Petite Ecole is for you to experience an incredible linguistic and cultural immersion. Therefore, all communication will be conducted in French. However, your teacher speaks English, which can prove to be highly beneficial in situations that require immediate assistance.
My partner wants to come along but does not speak French. Can he/she stay with me?
Everybody is welcomed, your partner can be completely independent or can join us for the Afternoon Immersions (one student + partner fee will apply).
What about meals?
In the kitchen, you will find basic ingredients and condiments i.e. coffee, tea, pasta, rice, pasta sauce, olive oil, butter, etc. In the morning, you will take care of your own breakfast. As for lunch, Vincent and/or his family will cook for you! But you may have to “mettre la main à la pâte!”. Dinner is not included. This leaves you the freedom to discover the taste of our wonderful Provencal cuisine. For vegetarians, vegans, and gluten intolerant? Let us know if you have any dietary requirements.
What if I can’t start on Tuesday ?
We strive to accommodate our students to the best of our ability and understand that scheduling conflicts may arise. While we make every effort to accommodate preferred arrival and departure dates, it is important to note that during our peak season, our availability may be limited.
I would like to request a modification to the schedule, possibly by allocating additional spare time or increasing the amount of tuition. Is that possible ?
As La Petite Ecole accommodates a maximum of two students who are acquainted with each other, Vincent is pleased to customise the experience to best meet your needs. Please indicate your preferences on the application form to allow for personalised accommodations.
I don’t drive : how can I move around during the week ?
Our school is located in a remote area devoid of public transportation infrastructure. However, in terms of the days involving Vincent, transportation arrangements for the afternoon immersion will be taken care of. Additionally, if you require assistance with running errands, Vincent will gladly provide transportation services.
